Is Port Protect® reusable?

No. To ensure the highest level of hygiene and prevent any risk of infection, Port Protect® is designed for one-time use only. This guarantees that each application is clean and safe, providing optimal protection every time.

I have sensitive skin. Is this product safe?

Port Protect® was thoughtfully designed by a patient with severe allergies, ensuring it meets the highest standards for sensitive skin. Made from a hypoallergenic, foam-like adhesive, it’s gentle and comfortable for most users. While we cannot guarantee it will not cause irritation for everyone, we’ve helped many patients with no issues, making it a trusted solution for those with sensitive skin.

While Port Protect® is designed with sensitive skin in mind, it’s always recommended to consult with your doctor before use, especially if you have known allergies or skin sensitivities. Your healthcare provider can help determine if Port Protect® is the right solution for you.

What is the recommended usage?

For optimal results, Port Protect® should be worn for 10 minutes to 1 hour prior to access. It has not been tested for use beyond one hour, so we recommend wearing it for no longer than one hour to ensure maximum effectiveness and safety.

How else can I use Port Protect® ?

Port Protect is also ideal for other medical procedures such as bone marrow biopsies or lumbar punctures, but you should always consult with your doctor.

Does Port Protect® shield a port from physical contact, such as sports activities or basketball practice?

No, Port Protect® is specifically designed to ensure easy and effective chest port access before an infusion.  While it does offer protection from things like seatbelts and bra straps, it is intended for use up to an hour before an infusion.  It is not designed to protect the port during high-impact activities.

No Return Policy

For health and safety reasons, we do not offer returns on Port Protect® products once they have been shipped, as we consider the product to be contaminated upon delivery. However, if you experience any sensitivity or adverse reactions, please contact us immediately. Our customer support team is here to assist you and address any concerns you may have.not been tested for use beyond one hour, so we recommend wearing it for no longer than one hour to ensure maximum effectiveness and safety.

Is Port Protect Sterilized?

No, Port Protect is not sterilized. However, it is manufactured in a controlled, clean room environment to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness. The product is also hypoallergenic, designed to minimize the risk of allergic reactions. It's worth noting that sterilization, while effective at eliminating bacteria and microorganisms, can sometimes affect the product's hypoallergenic properties. Therefore, we prioritize a clean manufacturing process that maintains both safety and hypoallergenic qualities.
